A ‘Sneak Peek’ of Lauren & Ed’s wedding at Harris Manchester College, Oxford. By Peter Smart.
It was a beautiful day for a Oxford Wedding and I was very excited to capture this very special day for Lauren & Ed. Harris Manchester College boasts some really beautiful buildings and interiors with such history that you can’t expect better for a backdrop. My antique vintage style fits well with this especially so in the wooden panelled baronial dining hall where the wedding breakfast took place. Lauren and Ed’s families are very warm and fun-loving and I was particularly struck by the sense of fun and warmth emanating during the speeches with Lauren’s Father Paul who’s opening speech was hilarious! Everyone’s faces immediately became animated as he spoke and gesticulated and it was really fun to capture this. Everything ran like clockwork and their were many interesting people and moments to capture which made for a fabulous documentary. A magician suddenly appeared during the reception whose card tricks mesmerised the guests which made for some really great facial expression changes Particularly astonishing was the point he turned a packet of cards into a transparent container of some sort! Lauren and Ed were very easy to photograph as having already completed a pre-wedding shoot, they new what to expect and subsequently were very natural in front of the camera. There were many portrait shots of them and I’ve included some here and you get a real sense of the togetherness and closeness between them. I really enjoyed capturing this unique day for Lauren and Ed and thanks so much for choosing me to be a part of it.
