Court Farm Wedding Photography | Documentary Storytelling
Court Farm Wedding Photography – Genevieve & John at Court Farm, Court Lane, Standerwick, Frome.
I’d not shot a wedding at Court Farm before and I am always excited to visit a new venue and capture something new. Being brought up on a farm, I am naturally drawn to such settings and Court Farm is a particularly relaxing and picturesque country farm that is ideal for couples looking for that rustic charm and ease. One of the great aspects of this farm venue is it can be completely DIY and Genevieve and John took took this opportunity and created something really special. There was a lovely relaxed and laid back feeling which pervaded throughout their whole day and lent itself so well with to my form of documentary photography. If I had my way, all weddings would be like this, well prepared beforehand, uncomplicated, and easy on the day so that guests and the bride and groom can lean back and celebrate. I love to capture those precious moments, but equally as important, are those in-between moments that are often a humorous addition to a wedding story. These moments are the side stories the bride and groom may not have seen but will love when they see their collection for the first time. This could be the small group of adults competing at giant jenga, or the kids altogether playing in a fountain, getting wet and dirtying their wedding clothes. I always endeavour to capture and create a collection of images that will portray the passage of time in the same way a good book will, a kind of flowing and weaving of truth and fiction and Genevieve and John’s wonderful day really inspired me to produce just that.
